Thompson old Leaded Enamels

I primarily use leaded vitreous enamels, mainly from Thompson Enamel, Inc. For those of you who want a list of these old enamels, here is a list I complied from information I got from Thompson Enamels and other sources. The code (which deals with the cost of the enamels) and prices (as of 1/04) were rated by Joan Schlaifer at Schlaifer's Enameling Supplies.

I don't sell enamels, but Joan sometimes has some of these colors for sale. They can also be purchased from other sources like E-Namels.com but they are hard to find as they are no longer manufacturered. However, there are manufacturers of leaded enamels today, but they are not in the USA. Note: all the Japanese enamels today are leaded and are compatible with the vintage Thompson leaded enamels.

I have this list on the web for other enamelists who would like to see a consolidated list of all of Thompson Leaded Colors. I do not think it is 100% complete, but pretty good. Note that there is no numbering scheme for color or type (transparent, opal or opaque) as was done for their unleaded colors.

Note: Pristine vs. Working Enamels - when using enamels, if you take some out of your container and when done, put the remaining enamel back into the same container, this is Working Enamel. Pristine Enamel is when you never put anything back into a Pristine container.

Note: Pristine vs Working is not relevant to Lumps.
