I specialize in Cloisonne on silver, but create with over 12 techniques. In 2010, I created a series of 12 beaded and enameled wall pieces, each with a different technique of enameling. All buttons are back marked with my KC stylized signature and, if large enough, also include the year of creation and my button number. All balls and twisted wire are made of fine silver by me. Note: my styled KC signature is documented in my book, which is in the Library of Congress.
Note: it's difficult to take a good photo of enamels because of the reflection. Cloisonne
Cloisonne is a technique of enameling in which wires of the same or different widths are bent to form a design and the resulting cells are wet packed with enamel; the top is then ground to be flush and the piece is polished. My Cloisonne pieces are usually fired about 15 times in a kiln at 1500°F. Many of them have Basse Taille or Guilloche backgrounds. My new style is to make these with a setting.

Guilloche
This is a specific form of Basse Taille and is what Faberge did on the background of his eggs and frames. These patterns are engine turned on a specialized machine which is not manufactured today. All my Guilloche is done on fine silver. This is a fairly rare form of modern enameling, due to the lack of access to get the metal.

Basse Taille
This technique is a texturing of the metal underneath transparent enamel. These are on fine silver where I get the pattern by either roll printing or etching. Roll printing requires a machine called a rolling mill that exerts high pressure on the metal. Using this technique you cane even roll print a pattern cut from a manila folder. Very cool.
