Kum Boo

Keum Boo (also Kum-Boo or Kum-bu - Korean "attached gold") is a Korean metalsmithing technique of fusing 24K gold thick foil to silver making silver-gilt. I always use either sterling silver or fine silver for the background. The finished piece is patinaed with black to make the gold stand out. These pieces are all done with my sister, Susan Jo Rochlin, who does the beading.

	#1216 - Pearl Garden 4 - Brooch/Necklace - Kuem Boo and salt water pearls (2mm and 3mm) on fine silver rolled with rice paper pattern, 3 flowers, embellished with freshwater pearls, coin, keishi, stick, and gold and copper seed beads with a necklace of the same freshwater pearls with a handmade "S" hook of 14K gold and silver for the optional necklace. 	#192 - Brooch - Reticulated silver w/ Keum Boo gold foil and studded with1 pearl (18K gold stud) to a 1 3/8" circle, set in a sculptural pearl and glass bead design. Overall dimension is 2.25". $185
	#219 - Pin - Kuem Boo on reticulated silver. 1" circle surrounded by sculptural pearl and glass bead design in whie, peacock and blue. Dimension is 1.75" circle $100
