These buttons use various metalsmiting techniques which are described below. I learned metalsmithing as a teen in summer camp and have continued throughout my adult life. I used to make a lot of silver and some gold jewelry, but today I prefer to make other items... like buttons! Custom orders accepted.
Colored Pencil
This technique uses ink and Prismacolor Premier colored pencils which have a waxy content. They are mostly copper buttons (unless otherwise noted), which are finished with either a matte or glossy coating. The surface maybe somewhat delicate. |

Keum Boo
Keum Boo (also Kum-Boo or Kum-bu - Korean "attached gold") is a Korean metalsmithing technique of fusing 24K gold thick foil to silver making silver-gilt. The background is typically patinaed dark so that the foil stands out. My button use either sterling silver or fine silver. |
