Welcome to my 2010 Bead Journal
The theme in 2010 was "A Round Peg in a Square Hole" - a study of enamel and fringe. In this series, which started in January 2010, I created an enamel of a different technique for each month and I was also exploring different fringes for each. I specialize in Closionne, which is the best known of all enameling techniques. So in this series I stretched my inclination to create a Cloisonne and include other techniques that I don't work with too often. The fringe exploration will also stretch me to come up with 12 different types of fringe.
These pieces are all 3.5" squares with a 1.5" enamel and about 1.5" fringe. They are all framed in the same shadow box frame measuring 8" x 10", with various flocked colored matte board for the background.
On each page for each piece, if you roll your mouse over the photo, you will see a close up of the enamel.
