Round Peg In A Square Hole
2010 - February - Basse Taille Enameling
This is the second piece of this BJP. In addition to the enamel, I have used copper and sterling beads, glass beads, Swarovski Crystal sequins and a flower/star with 2 color wire wrappings.
The enamel uses a technique called Basse Taille - transparent enamel over a texturized metal. In this case, the metal texture was accomplised with etching (paint pen resist). I then used black underglaze in some areas and made fine silver balls to inlay on the top layer.
Roll your mouse over the image to see a close up of the enamel.
